ebm-papst was founded in 1963 and is a family-owned company headquartered in Mulfingen, Germany. As a global leader in fan and motor technology, the company focuses on energy-efficient EC technology and intelligent solutions, providing sustainable products for a wide range of industries, including ventilation, heating, and refrigeration.

In fiscal year 2023/2024, the ebm-papst Group generated global revenue of EUR 2.408 billion and employed approximately 13,800 people worldwide, with more than 75% of its sales generated outside Germany.

Since entering the Chinese market in 1996, ebm-papst has established R&D centers and production facilities in Shanghai and Xi’an, serving customers across the Asia-Pacific, Africa, and Middle East regions. In March 2024, the company’s new Greater China headquarters in Jinqiao, Shanghai, officially commenced operations. Covering a total area of 33,000 square meters, the facility is expected to generate annual sales of approximately RMB 1.8 billion once fully operational. In the same year, the company invested in the construction of an Asia-Pacific R&D center and a fan manufacturing project in Xi’an.

In July 2025, ebm-papst Motor (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. was officially recognized as the regional headquarters of a multinational corporation. In 2026, ebm-papst participated in the 16th World Market Leader Summit, which brings together leading global companies and “hidden champions.”
