Danfoss was founded in Denmark in 1933 and is a multinational company headquartered in Denmark. It is one of the leading manufacturers in the fields of refrigeration, heating, water treatment, and power transmission and control. Over the years, Danfoss has grown from a small company into one of Denmark’s major industrial groups, with approximately 40,000 employees and around 100 factories worldwide, as well as subsidiaries and operations in more than 100 countries.

Since entering the Chinese market in the mid-1990s, Danfoss has established a large, modern manufacturing facility in Wuqing, Tianjin, as well as five wholly owned factories in Anshan, Liaoning; Haiyan and Hangzhou, Zhejiang; and Guiyang, Guizhou. Danfoss’s business in China has continued to expand, with more than 4,000 employees and annual sales approaching RMB 5 billion. China has become Danfoss’s third-largest market globally, ranks second worldwide in terms of employee numbers, and has also become Danfoss’s largest sourcing country.

As of 2026, Danfoss has been operating in the Chinese market for 30 years. The Group has established 12 production bases, three Application Development Centers, and one Global Refrigeration R&D and Testing Center in China, with sales in the Chinese market exceeding RMB 10 billion. Over the past decade, Danfoss’s sales in China have more than doubled.

At the 2026 China Development Forum, Danfoss President and CEO Kim Fausing highlighted the strategic importance of the Chinese market to the Group’s global business.
